 Celebrating 20 Years

  Ten members of PRIDE and two team advisors attended the 34^th annual PRIDE World Drug Prevention Conference in Toledo, Ohio in April 2011.The theme of the conference was Move... What moves you? What can you do to move others?  PRIDE of Bethel Park attended along with over 800 youths and adults from around the world to move and be moved.  Finding what motivates, what  inspires and what it takes to create true, meaningful change was our goal.  Our team attended workshops  listened to keynote speakers and learned, shared and celebrated healthy, drug- and violence-free lifestyles!  The team returned motivated and enthusiastic ready to spread the word to the remaining members of the team and others who joined PRIDE over the next few months.

      During the conference our team presented original performances written and choreographed by our team.  The first one was a drama entitled Heroin High.  The second was a choreodrama entitled Dollhouse.  The team placed third in this choreodrama competition. Our team was also one of three teams nominated for Team of the Year.

      Also, congratulations to our team member, Jessa Hogue, who was selected to be a member of the National Acting Team at the conference.  Congratulations also to Kyle Martin who represented PRIDE of Bethel Park as PRIDE Guide during the conference.
